Richard
and Kathy's pond is a 10 foot by 20 foot water wonder, built in 1997. The sides
are made of redwood and landscape timbers. Built to blend into the deck the
wood is all stained to match.
The filter is hidden at the top of a zig zag water
stream. The top of the filter is full of water hyacinth to help filter the
water. A shallow beach is also incorporated into the stream for their feathered
friends.
The stream
flows back into the pond completing it trip through the filter.
Leonard the
lucky gander keeps guard on the yard and ponds. If everything looks OK he may
even get to fish a while, keeping his fishing pole in his hand at all times.
A second pond
is an above-ground pond. Measuring 8 feet by 10 feet, it is completely above the
concrete surface. Hardy water lilies find this as a great place to call home. A
small hippo overlooks the water surface, just hoping for a snack.
This
beautiful PPWGS flag shows the club logo in a unique way.
Richard and Kathy were on the 2001 pond tour.
