Rose and Steve first filled their pond with water April 23rd, 2000. The pond is approximately 3000 gallons and is 34 inches deep. They have many water lilies and marginal plants along with goldfish and shubunkins.

The cold tub or lion claw bath tub sits beside the north deck and is filled by an antique well pump from Steve's Aunt and Uncle's farm house. The pump was originally used to provide water to the house and later as an outside wash-up water source. Today the pump gets water from the main pond and the tub overflows back into the pond. Some visitors call it the cold tub because a "Hot Tub" is located on the south deck.

The filter is powered by a 3000 gallon per hour submersible pump. The water is pumped into the bottom of a 150 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank. The tank has a bottom grate suspended six inches above the bottom. The remaining tank space is filled with lava rock to eight inches from the top. The filter surface is covered with Water Hyacinth. The filtered water then flows back to the main pond by a water fall stream.

The pond is filled with many Hardy Water Lilies. Here is a sample of their Rembrandt Hardy Lily collection. As you can see this variety can have several blooms at one time.

Steve and Rose were on the 2001 pond tour.
